Analysis of FCC Regulations and Related Issues
Direction concerning issues governed by the Federal Communications Commission including its rules and regulations and areas of interest, namely: Broadband, Media, Competition, Public Safety and Homeland Security, Spectrum (governance, auction, and allocation), and Technological Development. While having direct experience in filing comments, meeting with commissioners, and attending hearings, STS LLC is most proud of its work in shaping policy that has been adopted by the FCC administration that changes the playing field.
Instructional Strategies and Educational Designs
Instructional and training support for organizations both in structuring educational designs to disseminate information, team dynamics, and thinking skills for individual tool boxes. Emphasis on the creation of independent decision making. One can understand why change is not sustained by addressing a few key components: A) Supported and continued learning and adapting by all parts of the system B) Expected and designed leadership succession C) Authority and Accountability of Decision Nodes in the operation D) Develops capacity, understanding, utilization, collaboration, and regeneration of environment and resources E) Roles, Direction, and Trust
Policy Strategy and Analysis
Direction, tactics, and strategy for participant organizations regarding trends in the field of policy, technology, and alternative energy. Most recently this includes the ARRA stimulus legislation. While being at the beginning of the School, Hospital, and Library Broadband Coalition, STS LLC provided collegial support towards the creation of the coalition. At the same time, reports guided our client in this case as to what were the threats and potential benefits of being involved.
System Evaluation and Assessment
Institutional, program, and leadership evaluation and assessment regarding the efficacy and use of personnel, tools, and team performance. While many organizations accept certain types of stress and miscommunication as “normal,” having a 360 degree view of a situation and the dynamics it causes gives more useful feedback than most meetings. It also provides an outside validation of subjective feelings that something is “right” or “wrong.”
